About George Ioannou:

George Ioannou was born in Croydon, in 1974. His early inspiration came from the comic book heroes of the 1950s and 1960s, and his early ambition was to be a cartoonist.
Ioannou is currently one of the most successful icon painters in the UK, made famous with his highly collectable 'Scarface' series.
Ioannou exploits mass media sources indicative to the Pop-Art scene. He works with acrylics on canvas, using unmixed colour bound by sharp edges. His work, by design, unapologetically appeals to popular taste and kitsch.
